Instead of sending data to a third-party by default, users can run privacy friendly local log analysis systems like GoatCounter.
After this commit, Radicle Explorer will not randomly connect to unexpected hosts anymore.

After this commit, Radicle Explorer will not randomly connect to unexpected hosts anymore.
For context, I was somewhat surprised by uBlock showing blocked trackers after launching a copy of Radicle Explorer on https://src.tazj.in
I’ve patched this out on my local node and verified that it works fine (in fact, if you visit its web UI, you will see that things still work).
I think for a project in the sphere of Radicle it makes sense to not rely on (and include by default) privacy-invasive tracker systems in its projects, and rather nudge people in the direction of things like the NLNet-funded GoatCunter, which can work fully on the hoster’s machine and even just do analysis based on logs, without any Javascript tracking.
