Open julien opened 1 month ago

Collected UI/UX feedback from Zulip (March 2026) after the explorer restyling. Items already resolved in recent commits are excluded.

Open items

Bugs

  • Delegate badge styling broken on profile pages — badge color/rendering is off, should use brand color (#Explorer > restyling feedback and follow-ups)

Layout / Information density

  • Show full repo ID instead of shortened version (requested by istankovic)

Mobile

  • Mobile tap targets too small — click/touch areas on most elements are too small on mobile devices

Consistency

  • Authors in commit history not clickable — git authors on commit history and single-commit pages aren’t linked, unlike radicle NID authors on patch pages. Consider making them visually distinct or adding links where possible

Accessibility

  • General a11y pass needed — reported by fintohaps, no comprehensive accessibility audit has been done post-restyling

Customization

  • Theming support for self-hosters — multiple users requested the ability to drop in custom colors.css / typography.css to brand their self-hosted explorer instances. rudolfs indicated this is architecturally feasible with the current CSS custom properties setup

PWA

  • Rename PWA app to “Radicle” — currently still named “Radicle Explorer” in app.webmanifest

Notifications (broader UX)

  • Inbox/notification UX — external user reported clearing 1200 items, ~1100 were unwanted CI notifications with no way to filter. Tagged #uxhorror on Mastodon

Notifications sounds like a Desktop issue, not explorer.
