Hm, that would make my workflow harder. I look at the notification and decide whether to clear or leave it in my inbox depending on whether I acted on it or not.
For example:
I clicked on the notification for this issue
Looked at the text
Wanted to first look at the rest of the notifications before answering to this one, so I didn’t clear it
Came back to it later and answered it
Cleared the notification manually
So I’m applying the inbox-zero technique here. If the notification would have been cleared when I click on it, my workflow wouldn’t work. Maybe it could work if we had read/unread/cleared states instead of just shown/cleared.

Yea ok, it would make more sense if we had
Mark as readand then visiting it would mark it read but not remove it from your inbox.I’ll close this and create a new issue for Inbox wishes.
