Here’s what I do all the time:

1. go to inbox
2. pick a notification to look at and click on it and land on the patch or issue
3. i check the patch or issue for the change, reply to a comment, react, etc
4. i go back to the inbox to clear the notification that I just worked on

It would be good to have a marker somewhere on the issue/patch page that shows up if we come from the inbox via a specific notification, that allows me to clear the notification on this page, so I don’t have to go back to the inbox.

There are cases where I don’t clear the notification, for example when I just checked it, but didn’t answer a comment, i.e. I save it for later.

Maybe this will become irrelevant once we implement notifications in a global modal that is always accessible from any other view.
