Notifications
Open yorgos-laptop opened 10 months ago

I would like to receive (real-time) notifications for certain events that happen within the radicle network.

Some examples of events:

  • someone has created an issue or patch in a project where I am the maintainer,
  • someone has left a comment on an issue or patch where I have also commented,
  • a patch I have opened has been merged,
  • an issue I was interested in has been closed.

In terms of the notification mechanism, receiving an email or zulip message or OS-level notification from the desktop app (when I have it running) would all be acceptable. Different people will have different preferences on where they want their notifications to land.

Regardless of this feature request, it should still be possible to turn off notifications altogether (even if that is as simple as not allowing the desktop app permission to send notifications from the OS settings). Not everyone will want to receive interrupts. ( I do because I have learned how to handle them and have adapted my workflow to this. )
